Grounded Starseeds: Finding Belonging Without Losing Yourself in the Stars

By Lauren Mangelinckx | Brahmaloka Healing Arts

If you’ve ever felt like Earth wasn’t quite “home,” or found yourself gazing at the stars wondering where you really come from—you’re not alone. I’ve been there too.

I love the mystery of the cosmos. I’m drawn to spiritual exploration, to sci-fi and the mythic “what-ifs” of consciousness. Imagining new worlds and expanded realities feels natural to me—it’s part of what makes my soul feel alive. But I also know the difference between exploring the cosmos and escaping into it.

My feet are planted firmly on this Earth. My spiritual foundation is rooted in Vedanta (I have found this to resonate with me the most), where the entire Outer Universe is understood to be Maya—the Divine Illusion. Not to be feared or denied, but seen through with clarity. Once the veil lifts, what remains is Brahman: Pure Consciousness, Eternal Truth, and the LOVE that permeates all things.

From that view, the Cosmos becomes Divine Mother’s play. So yes—we’re meant to play. We’re meant to explore and even dream beyond the stars. But not at the expense of forgetting who and what we truly are.

My Personal Take on Starseeds

I didn’t grow up hearing about Pleiadians or Galactic Federations. I didn’t even come across the word “Starseed” until a few years ago. When I did, I stayed curious—and grounded.

Even as a child, I intuitively sensed we weren’t the only beings in the Universe. The idea that Earth held the monopoly on consciousness felt limiting and—let’s be honest—a bit egocentric. But I didn’t need a label like Starseed to affirm that sense of cosmic connection.

Over time, my spiritual path deepened through Buddhist practices like Metta (loving-kindness) and Mindfulness meditation, and eventually led me to the teachings of Vedanta, which I’ve studied for nearly a decade. My daily seated japa practice—a mix of breathwork, visualization, and japam—has allowed me to anchor my awareness not in labels, but in Direct Experience.

That’s why I approach all cosmic identity narratives with love, curiosity—and a healthy dose of discernment.

What Is a Starseed?

If the concept is new to you, a Starseed is generally thought to be a soul that originated in another dimension, star system, or realm—like the Pleiades, Sirius, or Arcturus—and incarnated on Earth to assist with the planet’s spiritual evolution.

Many Starseeds describe feeling like they don’t belong here. Some recall vivid dreams or downloads, while others are simply highly sensitive, purpose-driven, and deeply connected to the cosmos.

There’s nothing inherently wrong with identifying as a Starseed. But here’s the question I think we all need to ask:

Does this identity support my growth and embodiment—or is it distracting me from doing the real work of awakening here and now?

When Labels Become Limitations

In Vedanta, all identities—no matter how sacred-sounding—are still part of Maya. They may reflect aspects of our journey, but they are not the whole truth. They're not who we really are.

Saying “I’m a Pleiadian Starseed” might reflect a soul-level memory or energetic resonance—and that can be beautiful. But if we cling to that label, it can become just another mask. Another distraction from the deeper question:

"Who am I, really?"

It’s so tempting to find comfort in cosmic identity, especially when Earth feels harsh or disorienting. But the true purpose of any spiritual path is not to float away—it’s to become fully awake, right HERE. To embrace yourself- here and now.

If identifying as a Starseed helps you embody more love, presence, and purpose, wonderful!! If it becomes a way to avoid pain, bypass your humanness, or inflate spiritual specialness… then we’ve lost the point.

Everything Is Brahman

One of the most freeing insights Vedanta offers is this: everything—your body, your thoughts, the stars, the cosmos—is made of Brahman, the Ultimate, formless reality. It’s not that these things don’t exist. It’s that their form is fleeting, while the essence behind them is eternal.

So when someone says, “I remember being from the Pleiades,” I don’t doubt their experience. I hold it with openness. Because consciousness is vast. Our souls are not bound to one body, one life, or one planet.

But I also gently ask:
What does that memory awaken in you?
What wisdom are you bringing into the present moment?
And how are you embodying that here on Earth?

Because ultimately, the “where” doesn’t matter as much as the how you live right now.

Star Wisdom vs. Star Obsession

I love that people are waking up to the idea that we are more than just flesh and bone. I think it’s healing to remember that we are part of something much bigger than ourselves.

But I also see how easy it is to get carried away—to lose touch with this moment, this body, this life.

You are not here to “become” anything outside of yourself. You’re not here to chase an origin story or cosmic label. You’re here to REMEMBER the SELF—the unchanging presence behind all roles, names, and dimensions.

That’s the invitation of Vedanta, and honestly, of so many spiritual paths. We are not separate. We are all Brahman. All light. All love.

So yes, your soul may have danced among the stars. But right now? Your feet are on the Earth. And that is sacred!

Embodiment Is Empowerment

The more time I spend in deep meditation, japa, and silence, the more I realize that all labels eventually dissolve. What remains is presence. What remains is love.

True empowerment isn’t about discovering the most exciting narrative about yourself. It’s about being willing to sit with what’s real. To embrace this life. To meet your wounds with compassion. To remember the light within your own body, your own breath.

When someone tells me, “I just don’t feel like I belong here,” I honor that. I’ve felt it too. But I also ask:
What if you chose to come here?
What if your sensitivity is sacred?
What if your mission isn’t to escape this place, but to help transmute it—by being fully present in it?

That’s the community I want to build through Brahmaloka Healing Arts. A place where we don’t bypass being human—but bring divine consciousness into the bones, breath, blood, body, mind, emotions, and SOUL.

Signs You Might Be a Starseed (But Don’t Let It Define You)

  • Earth has never quite felt like “home”

  • You crave deep spiritual connection and soul-aligned purpose

  • You’re sensitive to energy, light, sound, or emotions

  • You’re drawn to stars, sacred geometry, or cosmic imagery

  • You struggle with the harshness of Earthly systems (war, greed, injustice)

  • You feel a deep inner calling that defies logic

If this resonates—welcome. But let this point you inward, not outward. You’re not here to fit into a mold. You’re here to wake up, love deeply, and remember your light.

Come Back to the Self

Whether or not you identify as a Starseed, the most important journey is this:

Return to the Self.

That’s where empowerment lives.
That’s where the bliss is.
That’s where you remember—you are already whole, already home.

You don’t need to know your star lineage to heal. You don’t need to channel alien languages to be intuitive. You don’t need to leave Earth to experience Divine ecstasy.

You ARE the COSMOS in HUMAN FORM. And you are already enough.
